SP’s Biryani House | Pune
Located in the very centre of Sadashiv Peth, SP’s Biryani House is a treasure trove of biryani for those who love the dish. The delicious Sajuk Ghee Mutton Dum Biryani and the legendary ‘SP’s mutton dum biryani’ are only two of the thirteen biryani variants offered at this gastronomic sanctuary. The experience is praised for its wonderful combination of affordable and delicious indulgence, especially when served with tasty curry.
Main courses range from biryani to mutton, chicken, seafood, eggs, and vegetarian delicacies, among many more. Those with more daring tastes may have biryani made with a whole chicken or leg of mutton, but only if they give the restaurant at least 24 hours’ notice. Planning is key to ensuring an exceptional eating experience at SP’s Biryani House since the restaurant is always bustling with customers, especially on weekends.
Points to Remember

SP’s Biryani House Review:
In terms of flavour, SP’s Biryani was just acceptable, but it left me with mixed sentiments. Especially when compared to my many biryani encounters in Bangalore. Even though the rice and beef were cooked to perfection and had excellent seasoning, the dish didn’t live up to my expectations in terms of presentation. The outstanding gravy that came with the biryani was the most memorable part, in my opinion; it was a revelation that brought out the best in every bite. I was captivated by the way the biryani and gravy interacted.
I was unable to complete the full plate of rice since the portion size was too large for my liking. Fortunately, the restaurant had first-rate service starting from the time we placed our order, and the atmosphere was pleasant as well.
One thing that stood out about my meal was that as I walked in, there wasn’t the normal enticing scent of food. Because of this outlier, I continued to order only the biryani. For someone like myself, who uses aromas to influence her eating choices, the absence of any noticeable food smell was a significant change.
I would suggest SP’s Biryani House with caution to anybody looking for biryani in Pune. The restricted selection of biryani in the city makes it a good option, even if I have my doubts. Since my time here wasn’t terrible altogether, I would return if given the chance. If you give it a go, please report back with your thoughts!
