Thai Basil, with its two Bangalore locations, is a model of authentic Thai cuisine that will transport your taste buds to a mystical land of Thai flavours. My recent supper there was both stunning and generally fulfilling, therefore I think this place deserves a mention for Thai food enthusiasts. The restaurant’s decor is inspired by the Thai style, which provides an inviting ambience. The combination of dim lighting, traditional Thai art, and wooden accents makes for a warm and sophisticated atmosphere. The seating arrangement creates a comfortable ambience that couples and families will love. Then how is the fare? Here is a review for you to peruse.

Expert Review
Thai basil truly shines in the kitchen. There are many authentic-tasting classic Thai dishes to choose from on the menu. Our initial courses consisted of Chicken Satay and Som Tam, a traditional Thai salad made with papaya. I was hoping for the signature fiery bird-eye chilli in the papaya salad, but alas, it was missing. However, when I thought about the Bangalore palette, Som Tam wasn’t too bad.

Let me tell you, that Chicken Satay was disgusting. Because the fish sauce and sugar were too much, I didn’t enjoy the meal. The traditional flavours of ginger, lime, and soy were missing from this satay. I couldn’t stand the overpowering, revolting smell of the fish sauce. After that, the Khao Pad Nam Prik Pao (Tofu fried rice with Black chilli paste) was a revelation; the perfectly cooked rice showed a harmonious blend of textures and flavours. I was expecting some Thai spice again, so the fact that it was sugary was a little disappointing.
Even though Khao Neow Mamuang (Mango Sticky Rice), my go-to dessert, was out of stock, the waitress knew her way around the menu and suggested Peak Poon (Pandan Pudding with coconut milk), which was delicious. The fact that I found pleasure in it prevented me from being let down. The restaurant’s dedication to preserving the authentic flavours of traditional Thai desserts was on full display in this dish.
Although the high-quality food more than makes up for the price, Thai Basil is still a bit pricey. The serving sizes are on the large side, however, so you’ll receive more than your money’s worth from the meal.
I think everyone should go here at least once; I guarantee you will like it.
