I really didn’t expect that my first post will be about Ragi Ambli but what to do these days im having only Ragi Ambli. Many people get psyched when I tell I had ragi malt for lunch but some people really ask me how to prepare it. I do have a simple recipe below which you can use to prepare ragi malt.
Ingredients
- 1/2 (Half) cup of Ragi Powder also called Finger Millet,
- 1 cup of milk
- ¼ cup of curd (it really tastes better)
- 2 cups of water
- Salt to taste
Tips
Variation: To make Sweet version – Add only milk and not buttermilk/ curd and replace sugar with salt. This version tastes good but if you want something healthy then don’t use sugar.
Method

Roast the powder slightly in a medium flame till it releases aroma (2 to 3 minutes). Please note that you don’t burn the powder too much.
On the other hand heat water in a saucepan.
Then you can add the roasted powder to the slightly warm water and stir it properly so that it doesn’t become a stone.
Keep stirring until it gets well mixed.
Add the Salt to it
Bring it to a good boil.
Add milk and curds.
Boil it for 2 minutes and serve it hot
A hearty, protein and calcium shake is ready to feast on.
Benefits:
Oh come on, you don’t expect me to give you all the benefits but yeah, being a foodie this energy drink keeps your tummy fit and healthy. Not only that, It is said that it cuts the extra fat because of it fibrous elements. I am really getting its benefits as I have lost 4 KGs in 2 weeks’ time.
I know that’s a crazy thing for a foodie to lose weight but come on, you need to look good too…
