I’ve always had a keen desire to review Gundappa Donne Biryani, and thanks to the Food Bloggers Association, I finally had the opportunity to visit and assess this remarkable establishment. Gundappa Donne Biryani is a haven for those seeking an authentic military-style culinary experience, offering an array of delectable dishes including biryanis, curries, and fries. While there’s a common misconception that Gundappa Donne Biryani is solely dedicated to biryanis, I wholeheartedly disagree. This establishment boasts an impressive selection of mouthwatering non-vegetarian delights, making it a paradise for meat lovers. However, I must caution vegetarians that this is not the place for you, as greens are not on the menu.

Points to Remember:

  1. Vegetarians, beware! This place is strictly for non-vegetarians.
  2. Contrary to expectations, not all the dishes here are fiery and spicy.
  3. Keep in mind that there are no dessert options available.
  4. The authenticity of the food is one of its strongest attributes, so don’t expect any dilution of flavours here.
  5. If you’re not in the mood for dining in, they offer convenient take-home options.

Gundappa Donne Biryani is a place that exudes tradition in every aspect—its appearance, ambience, and the way it serves its dishes. The meat quality is consistent, and the cooking is skillfully above average. While the essence of traditional Donne biryani flavours is certainly present, there was a hint of missing authenticity.

However, when it comes to taste and quality, the biryani is nothing short of “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.” That’s the word your taste buds will use to describe this remarkable biryani. In addition to the biryani, which is available in both chicken and mutton variants, Gundappa Donne Biryani offers an enticing array of authentic curries and fries, such as Guntur Chicken from Andhra, Chilli Chicken, Kheema Vada, and more. I must say, they left a strong impression on me with their exceptional quality and delicious flavours, which felt truly authentic.

While the ambience may not be particularly upscale, it’s worth noting that great food often comes from unassuming places like this. In conclusion, I highly recommend trying the fantastic Donne biryani at Gundappa; I’m confident you’ll love it.
